Cedar Waxwings – The Elegant Visitors
Cedar Waxwings are rare guests, sweeping through in flocks that seem to appear out of nowhere and vanish just as quickly. If you’re fortunate, you might see them once a year—regal little birds with silky feathers, black masks, and tails tipped in bright yellow as if dipped in paint. Always together, never alone, they move as a unit: feeding, flying, and even crowding around bird baths in a flurry of wings. They even pass berries beak to beak so everyone gets a share. Their visits are brief but unforgettable, a fleeting glimpse of elegance and grace before they move on to their next stop.
