Squeaky Shadows in the Canopy



High in the canopy, a hungry Mississippi Kite nestling — nicknamed Squeaker Box — sits calling nonstop, full-sized but still begging for meals. His squeaky demands are impossible to ignore, and sure enough, an attentive adult swoops in with his favorite treat: cicadas. While the adult shows off the elegance of a skilled aerial hunter, the youngster proves that persistence (and a loud voice) pays off.
